What class representatives actually do all day
Class reps carry more of the academic system than most people notice. We spoke to a few about the parts that are hardest.

The job description is short and the job is not. A class representative collects information from lecturers and departments, translates it into something students can act on, and then repeats it until it lands.
The repeating is the hard part. One announcement becomes a message in the level group, a message in three course groups, a status post, and a stream of direct replies from people who missed all of the above.
The second hard part is proof. Students want to know whether a message is official. Reps end up screenshotting notices, forwarding them, and answering the same question about whether the change is confirmed.
Both problems are structural, not personal. If announcements have a home, and that home is visibly official, the rep stops being a human relay.
That is the thinking behind the Update tab. A rep posts once, into a space that belongs to the class, and everyone in the level sees the same message with the same timestamp.
